Mérida Mérida. It was founded by August in 25 b. c. It was one of the most important towns in the Roman Hispania. Its splendour continued during the Visigoth times, after that, Mérida was relegated for centuries. In 1983 it was declared Mankind Heritage by the UNESCO. Walking around Mérida is like going back in time to the Roman days, with Mars Temple , Diana Temple, the Roman Theatre , The Roman Circus and the Roman Amphitheatre is like travelling in a time machine. |
